Please check each sections rules and regulations of each subject you want to enter. Any infringement of the rules could result in disqualification.
Competitors Rules
The festival is intended for mainly amateurs. Professionals may only enter an open class.
The timetable will be determined once all the entries are in, and the entries are closed.
No competitor will be able to enter more than once in the same solo class.
Age on 31st August 2024
The adjudicators decision is final.
Performers must provide their own music. All music must be uploaded by the required date . Any music not uploaded could mean the competitor will not be able to perform .All song and dance and singing sections must not include words and the tap section cannot include tapping.
Please adhere to the timings for each class. These are shown on the syllabus.
All competitors under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by a parent teacher or a licensed chaperone. You cannot look after another child unless you have a chaperone licence .
Please do not leave any children unattended in the atrium or changing room . There must be an adult with them at all times.
Photography is strictly prohibited while competitors are on stage, even taking photos of your own children. We have a professional photographer for this who is DBS checked. There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the building to take your own.
The festival takes no responsibility for personal belongings left or damaged at the venue during the festival. Any lost property left or found will be available from the front desk.
DANCE SECTION
All of the above rules are included in the dance section rules.
Redance . The adjudicators word is final . Only children up to the age and including nine will be considered to dance again .
Only able to enter 1 solo in each class
You can enter 2 duets in each class, up to 3 entries per class in Trio’s/ quartets.
Small Groups & large Groups : .Please make sure all groups have the correct amount of performers in each group . Min and max both apply
No lyrics can be used in any musical theatre section whatever the age
Please make sure shoes are worn whilst walking around the building and in the auditorium.
Please make sure all props are able to be carried on by the competitor and are removed from side of stage after performance. There is a props area backstage . fresh flowers are not allowed to be used.
The improvisation class:
All competitors that have entered this class will get the opportunity to listen to the music twice.
Any competitors that have entered the Audition class will be taught the audition piece together them eliminated step by step until 3 dancers remain.
SINGING
Please dress appropriately.
A mic will be available for the pop song only
Timings for singing will be listed on Play&Perform please adhere to these.
Unfortunately, we do not have access to a piano this year so all music for these sections should be uploaded. Any problems please contact me, and again no vocals on backing tracks.
All competitors will be seated in the auditorium and called from there.
SPEECH & DRAMA
Suitability for all pieces must be considered carefully for all age groups and offensive material is not acceptable.
All competitors are asked to introduce themselves and the piece they are performing .Please bring a copy of the piece you are performing . You will be asked to hand it to a volunteer who will collect them all in and pass them on to the adjudicator. Please take a bow at the end.
Again all competitors will be in the auditorium seated and will be called from there.
Parents/Teachers/Chaperones Rules
Child protection
PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The festival has compiled this policy to provide a safe and caring environment for all competitors in compliance with the Child Protection Policy and work together with parents, teachers and all festival volunteers to implement this policy.
Purpose and function of organisation
The festival provides a stage for amateur performers to compete against each other publicly. The chosen adjudicators presence represents an artistic standard against which the competitors are willing to be measured.
Environment
It is our policy to involve parents/guardians/carers or teachers in partnership with the festival to ensure a safe environment as far as is practically possible.
Application
This policy relates to children under 18years and vulnerable adults who are identified prior to attending festival. The festival recognises the needs of all children are different and will seek to meet specific needs notified to the festival in advance by parents/ Guardians/ carers and teachers .
Personnel
Future Arts Festival will be run by people whom have been briefed on the terms of the policy.
These volunteers are all identified by a badge with their names and may l help you written on them . If any problems arise we have designated volunteers who are DBS and Chaperoned trained to listen deal with any problems arising and document action if required.
Preparation
All teachers and organisers of participants at this festival will have access to our policy and will be expected to have read it.
It is essential that parents/guardians/carers not attending the festival are satisfied their children are accompanied and adequately supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

There will also be a changing room for any persons who wants to change alone organisers would need advanced warning so put changing facilities available . The venue has ample changing areas to do this .
Photography and Videoing
Future Arts Festival prohibits the use of photography and videoing of anyone whilst performing.
We have a professional photographer who is police checked to take action shots while competitors are on stage .
On our online booking there is an opt out section so any person opting out our photographer will be given their details so not to take pictures.
Any person caught taking photos or videos will be asked to erase from their device
